I am a hopeless romantic. Let’s have that out of the way before you continue reading this blog. If you have read my blog about Aiza’s rendition of I Won’t Hold You Back , this is sort of the epilogue, the blogs are not really related but the song led me to look for Anna Scott’s (Julia Roberts) famous line, “I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” Ouch… Well, let’s not be unfair to William Thacker (Hugh Grant). He is an unbelievably nice guy, who does not seem to get mad at the movie - considering what he’s been through. He had his heart broken by the same girl 3 times in the movie, I believe. Remember when you were a child and a song plays on the radio? You sing the song without really understanding it judge them by their melody. If you don’t, well I do. One of the songs I remember was You Don’t Love Me Anymore by Weird Al Yankovic. It is a sad song, a very sad song with a very sad melody. Back then, I could only hear its chorus clearly which states, got a funny feeling, you don’t love me anymore.  But when you start to listen carefully to the song and its lyrics, which I’m sure most of you did, your jaw would start to drop, then cover your open mouth, slowly close it and smile. Last Sunday, Aiza Seguirra sang one of the most heartbreaking classics of all time –at least in my opinion. She sang I won’t Hold You Back by Toto. The original rendition is very good but I prefer the sessionanista’s version. There is something about Aiza’s voice that will make a sad song even sadder (sniff).
